We work exclusively with precious materials such as freshwater pearls, crystals, and 925 sterling silver. Every single stone and pearl undergoes a thorough quality control before becoming part of our collection.

I sometimes spend hours designing the unique pieces that characterize Opal Smykker. I experiment with shapes, colors, and combinations until I find the perfect balance between elegance and originality.

I am also responsible for the actual manufacturing of the jewellery! Every single step requires precision, patience, and a keen eye for detail. Often, I have to start over because it doesn't feel quite right. Only when I am satisfied with the piece does the process of naming, pricing, and product photography begin.

Freshwater pearls and crystals are the focal point of my jewellery. These natural treasures bring a unique beauty and energy to the design.

Freshwater pearls are formed over decades in rivers and lakes, slowly growing layer by layer. Each pearl is thus a unique piece of nature with its own history and character. The crystals I use are also hand-picked to ensure the highest quality. Each crystal is a small work of art created by nature itself.

Furthermore, I exclusively use 925 sterling silver and gold-plated sterling silver in the jewellery. This precious metal is not only beautiful but also a sustainable choice, as silver can be reused again and again without losing its qualities.

The production also takes place in Denmark, where I make all the jewellery myself. I can therefore ensure proper working conditions and minimize the CO2 footprint. I strive to reduce waste and recycle materials wherever possible.
